Residents of Dhayari are frustrated with the slow progress on DP roads and plan a hunger strike against PMC on January 26
It’s been 28 years since these roads were first planned, but hardly any work has been done. Most of the roads are still just on paper, which makes traffic a nightmare. The stretch from Savitri Garden to Sinhagad Road is particularly bad, with only 400 meters of road work completed despite a lot of money being spent.
Benkar, one of the residents, is really frustrated with the traffic situation. He pointed out that there aren’t enough police or traffic wardens to manage the chaos. Areas like Dhayari Village Road and Narhe-Dhayari are among the worst hit.
Damishte, another local, mentioned that the planning for these roads started almost three decades ago, but land acquisition is still not finished. This has left many residents stuck in constant traffic jams, and they’re tired of waiting for things to change.
