Pune’s PMC has set up helplines and new safety measures to ensure clean water for residents amid GBS concerns
They’re also rolling out real-time meters to monitor chlorine levels in drinking water. This way, they can make sure the water is safe to drink. Plus, they’re testing water from tankers and residential wells. They’re even giving out chlorine sachets to private operators to help keep things safe.
If you have any concerns about water safety or need help with GBS, you can call PMC’s 24-hour toll-free helplines: 020-25506800, 25501269, and 67801500.
To keep things in check, they’re installing new disinfection facilities and automated treatment systems. PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale mentioned that they’ll distribute 20,000 bottles of Medichlor in affected areas. He stressed that ensuring clean water and public safety is their top priority.
So, if you notice anything off with your water, don’t hesitate to reach out to those helplines. Stay alert and stay safe!
