Pune’s PMRDA Commissioner has decentralised building permissions to speed up approvals and improve efficiency for local projects
During a recent seminar, citizens voiced their frustrations about accessing officials and getting their issues sorted. In response, Commissioner Mhase set up fixed times for citizens to meet with planners. For example, Assistant Town Planners will be available every day from 2 PM to 4 PM, and the Commissioner will be there on Mondays and Thursdays to tackle grievances directly.
To make things even better, the PMRDA is launching a revamped website in about 15 days. This new site will be user-friendly and will keep everyone updated on important news, office circulars, and decisions that matter to citizens.
Mhase also shared some exciting projects in the pipeline, like establishing 11 fire stations across the district and setting up regional offices to bring services closer to the people. Plus, there’s a river pollution control project in the works to help protect the environment.
To ensure that workloads are balanced within the department, Mhase announced plans to allocate tasks fairly. This way, everyone can work efficiently and provide better service. The overall goal is to create a transparent and citizen-friendly environment, making life easier for everyone in the Pune Metropolitan Region.
