Pune’s old airport terminal will be demolished for redevelopment, enhancing passenger experience and operational efficiency, says MP Mohol.
Mohol shared that the last few flights still using the old terminal will soon shift over too. Once that’s done, they’ll start tearing down the old building to make way for something new.
The plan is pretty cool. They’re going to turn the old arrival hall into a bigger departure area, connecting it to the new terminal with a corridor. This is all about making things smoother for passengers and handling the growing number of travelers.
They’re adding 16 new check-in counters to help speed things up and reduce wait times. Plus, they’ll have a modern security area with advanced equipment to keep everyone safe and make the screening process quicker.
Mohol also mentioned that they’ll integrate the old systems with the new terminal to ensure everything runs smoothly. And guess what? There will be retail shops too, giving travelers more options while they wait.
This whole project is a big deal, costing around ₹25 crore and adding about 4,000 square meters of space. It’s exciting to see how Pune Airport is evolving to meet the needs of its passengers!
