Pune: The city is shaking things up with new parking rules. They’ve set up ‘No Parking Zones’ in several areas to help ease traffic.

In Kothrud, a stretch near Meenatai Thackeray Kaman Lane to Sankalp and Siddhi Co-operative Housing Society is now off-limits for parking. The same goes for the area from Minal Garden Society to Shrikrishna Society on Mai Mangeshkar Marg.

Over in Baner, you can only park in the designated P-1 and P-2 zones from Pancard Lane to Hotel Spring Onion.

Deccan is also getting a makeover. A 100-meter stretch on Karve Road, from Sahyadri Hospital to Vimalabai Garware School, is now a ‘No Parking Zone.’

And in Bharti Vidyapeeth, the service road from Kadam Plaza to Lake Town and the area from Ramnath Sweets to Green Park Building will also be off-limits for parking.

The police are keen to hear from the public. They’ve set up a way for folks to share their thoughts or concerns about these changes. You can send your feedback to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic Control) at the Yerwada Post Office by February 5, 2025.

After gathering public input, they’ll make a final call on the rules, but essential service vehicles will still be allowed to park. This whole initiative is about making traffic flow better and keeping everyone safer on the roads.
