Pune police have arrested a gang that was robbing LGBTQ individuals using dating apps
The police arrested four people, including three minors. The main suspect is an 18-year-old named Bharat Dhindale. It turns out these guys are college students, which is pretty shocking.
They would set up meetings with their targets, pretending it was just a casual hangout. But once they met, they’d rob them of their cash, phones, and other valuables.
According to the police, the gang took advantage of the victims’ fears about social stigma, making it less likely for them to report the crimes. It’s a sad situation that highlights the challenges faced by the LGBTQ community.
The police acted quickly, and after some interrogation, they managed to catch the rest of the gang on the same day. A case has been filed against them, and they’re facing serious charges.
