Pune’s Swargate Police have busted a mobile theft syndicate, recovering 43 stolen phones valued at Rs 7.45 lakh from a local dealer.
The investigation revealed that a guy named Shirole was behind the thefts. He had been snatching phones from unsuspecting passengers at bus stops and around the Pune station. He even admitted to stealing a Vivo phone from a woman at the Swargate PMPML bus stop last month.
As the police dug deeper, they traced the stolen phones to a local dealer named Mohammed Shahid Ilyas Ansari, who runs Haseena Enterprises Mobile Shop in Kondhwa. Along with the phones, they also found a laptop that was used to wipe the data from these devices.
Shirole isn’t new to this; he’s got a history with six prior theft cases. Now, he’s facing multiple charges. The investigation is still ongoing, led by Senior Police Inspector Yuvraj Nandre, with Police Constable Ashruba Morale also involved.
This operation was carried out under the watchful eyes of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and Deputy Commissioner Ranjankumar Sharma, along with other senior officers. It’s a big win for the police and a reminder to everyone to stay vigilant!
