The sports department has scrapped its old tender after NCP raised concerns, now issuing a new one to ensure fairness in the bidding process
NCP spokesperson Sunil Mane claimed the first tender was unfair. He said it seemed designed to favor just one bidder. Mane spoke to Sports Minister Dattatray Bharne about this. He felt the process was not transparent.
Mane mentioned that the sports department listened and acted. They issued a new tender, which he welcomed. He also reached out to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis about the issue.
Meanwhile, Minister Bharne was busy at an NCP workshop in Shirdi and couldn’t comment. An anonymous official confirmed the new tender was out.
The previous tender was worth ₹230 crore for sports equipment. It was part of a larger three-year deal worth ₹690 crore. Mane pointed out that the terms were tough for smaller firms.
The decision to cancel and reissue the tender is seen as a good move. It shows a commitment to fairness and transparency in the bidding process.
