Pune: Christmas celebration held at historic Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission Church in Kedgaon

The historic church of Kedgaon: A 126-year-old glorious legacy of faith, service, and humanity celebrates the Christmas Service. 

Kedgaon: The historic church built by Pandita Ramabai in the Kedgaon-Boripardhi area of Daund taluka in the year 1899, spread over approximately 200 acres, is considered one of the largest and most important Christian places of worship in Pune district. In the backdrop of the Christmas season, celebrating the birth of Lord Jesus Christ, the religious, historical, and social heritage of this church is being further highlighted.

This year, the structure has completed 126 years. This magnificent church, built in the shape of a cross, has the capacity to accommodate approximately 2,500 devotees for prayer at a time. 

On 25th December 2025 the Christmas service was led by Rev. Prakash Salve & Rev. K Prasad. The community joined with the Christmas service at Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission Church. There was a Holy environment during the Church service. The Youth sang carols and worshipped the Lord Jesus. 

Christmas is celebrated primarily to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, a central figure in Christianity, symbolizing love, hope, and salvation, blending Christian faith with ancient winter solstice traditions of light and feasting, emphasizing family, giving, and goodwill.
