The attack happened around 10:50 am when two guys on black motorcycles fired at Ajay Vikram Singh, who lives in Hinjewadi but is originally from Madhya Pradesh.
According to the police, the attackers were wearing helmets and used a homemade pistol. After firing, they sped off towards Varale-Bhamboli village.
The police inspector mentioned that one bullet hit Singh in the chest, and another struck his lower back. Thankfully, he’s in the hospital and under medical care.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police said there’s no evidence of extortion linked to this incident. They’re exploring all angles to catch the culprits.
The Mahalunge MIDC Police are reviewing CCTV footage to find leads. Mohan Patil, a local industry director, expressed concern about rising crime in the area, noting that it’s not just petty theft anymore.
He pointed out that police are struggling with manpower, which is making things worse. A case has been filed, and the investigation is still ongoing.
