Sangli police busted a drug manufacturing operation, arresting three individuals and seizing a massive haul of MD drugs worth nearly ₹30 crore
During the late-night operation, they seized about 14.50 kg of MD drugs, valued at a whopping ₹29.73 crore. The three arrested individuals were identified as Rahudeep Dhanji Boricha, Suleman Johar Sheikh, and Balraj Amar Katari. Interestingly, Boricha has a chemistry background, which he used to his advantage in producing the drugs.
The police revealed that Boricha had learned the ropes while serving time in jail. He rented the premises for just ₹30,000 a month and had been operating for about a month. Katari and Sheikh were responsible for distributing the drugs to major cities like Pune and Mumbai.
Now, the local police have filed charges against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. It’s a big win for the Sangli police in their fight against drug trafficking.
