The Pune Outer Ring Road aims to reduce traffic and is set for completion by September 2027 after land acquisition wraps up in March 2025
Once they finish acquiring the land, construction is expected to take about two and a half years. This project is all about easing traffic in Pune, and it’s split into two main phases.
The Eastern Phase will stretch 74.08 kilometers from Urse on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway to Shivare on the Pune-Satara Highway. Meanwhile, the Western Phase will cover 64.45 kilometers, linking Shivare back to Urse.
In total, the project will impact 83 villages and require a significant amount of land. The eastern section needs 143 hectares across Maval, Khed, Purandar, and Haveli talukas, while the western section will need 64 hectares in Mulshi, Haveli, and Bhor talukas.
To speed things up, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has asked the state government for Rs. 800 crores. An MSRDC official reassured everyone that the funding is in place, with loans already lined up from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO).
