Pune: Starting this Republic Day, the Pune Metro is extending its service hours. Trains will now run until 11 PM on both the Vanaz-Ramwadi and Pimpri-Swargate routes.

Right now, the first train leaves at 6 AM, and the last one departs at 10 PM. This change is a big win for late-night travelers, especially those catching flights or trains.

They’re adding at least four trips after 10 PM, with trains coming every 15 minutes. During busy times, like morning and evening rush hours, you can expect a train every seven minutes.

Some folks think the service should go until midnight since many people enjoy late dinners. Others suggest reducing the wait time at night to make it easier for commuters.

The managing director of Maha-Metro mentioned that these extended hours will really help those coming home late from work. The travel time on the Vanaz-Ramwadi route is about 37 minutes, while the PCMC-Swargate route takes around 34 minutes.

On January 1, 2025, the metro had over two lakh passengers in a single day. Plus, on Republic Day, you can grab a One Pune Transit Card for just ₹20.
