Starting next academic year, Balbharati textbooks will no longer have blank pages, making them more straightforward for students.
The whole idea was to help students, especially those from poorer backgrounds, by giving them space to write down key points. But after a trial run, it seems most kids just ended up carrying both their textbooks and notebooks anyway. Not exactly what they hoped for, right?
Krishnakumar Patil, the director of Balbharati, announced that from the next academic year, textbooks will be back to their old format—no more blank pages. This change comes after a lot of feedback from teachers and experts who weren’t too keen on the idea in the first place.
Interestingly, this isn’t the only policy that’s been rolled back. The earlier decision about a uniform dress code has also been scrapped. It looks like the new education policies are getting a major overhaul, and it’s all about making things simpler for the students.
