In a recent crackdown, Pune police arrested nine people for having illegal firearms, seizing seven weapons in the process.
The main suspect, Sagar Dhebe, got seven pistols from someone in Madhya Pradesh. The police were tipped off about Akash Bidkar, a known criminal, carrying a firearm near DP Road.
To catch him, the crime branch set up a trap. They arrested him and found a country-made pistol and a live round.
As the investigation continued, they discovered more about the group. Mane and Khatpe were supposed to be out of the city but were still around.
The police acted quickly to prevent any potential crimes. They filed a case at Alankar police station under various sections of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police laws. It’s a big win for the police in keeping the streets safer.
