Mumbai: On January 25, a transplant team got a call to rush a liver to a hospital in Pune for a patient in dire need. They jumped into action and arrived in Mumbai at 3 AM the next day. After a four-hour surgery to retrieve the organ, they had to get it moving fast to keep it viable.

Even with the traffic from Republic Day celebrations, a special green corridor was set up to make sure the liver got to Pune quickly. Thanks to the Maharashtra police and traffic department, the route was cleared for the medical team.

The transplant was led by Dr. Vrishali Patil at DPU Super Speciality Hospital, with Dr. Manoj Dongare performing the surgery. It was a tricky operation because the patient was in bad shape, facing serious risks like fluid buildup and high blood pressure. Plus, the donor was older, which added to the complications.

In the end, everything went well, and the patient got a new lease on life. The quick transport of the liver was crucial, arriving just in time for the surgery preparations.
