Pune’s civic chief is on the ground as health teams survey areas affected by GBS, ensuring safety and support for residents.
After the inspection, Bhosale shared that most cases are popping up around Sinhagad Road and Nanded City. They’ve tested the water sources and found no contaminants yet, but they’re being cautious and increasing chlorine levels. There were also complaints about sewage near water pipelines, so they’re working on fixing that too.
To tackle the situation, the Pune health department has sent out 85 survey teams, with 64 already on the ground. These teams are gathering important info about water supply and sanitation.
Dr. Borade emphasized the importance of safe drinking water. She advised everyone to boil and filter their water. An emergency meeting was held, and the state health department will keep everyone updated. So far, tests from local wells show no contamination, but they’re keeping a close eye on things as the health teams work to control the GBS spread.
